A 26-year-old domestic servant by the name, Daniel Ikade has vanished into thin air after he reportedly burgled his boss’s apartment in the Anthony Village area of Lagos State and stole $11,000 (about N4m). The house help aka Danzy, was alleged to have broken into the room where the money was kept when his boss, Ebun Akin, a businessman, was not around. He then fled with the cash. The suspect allegedly committed the crime on Friday, February 22, 2018, six months after he was employed through an agent, identified only as Samuel. Invasion by monkeys from their natural home is compelling a large number of residents of Soluyi/Sosanya community in Gbagada area of Lagos State to run for their lives. Scientists on Thursday, March 22, warned adults above the age of 45 on the danger posed by sugary drinks. The researchers stated that the consumption of large amounts of sugary beverages increases the risk of dying from heart disease or other causes. This is contained in the findings of a preliminary research presented at the American Heart Association’s Epidemiology and Prevention/Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health Scientific Sessions 2018. It noted that taking large amounts of sugary beverages, including soft drinks, fruit drinks and fruit juices, may lead to a higher risk of dying from heart disease or other causes, compared to those who drink fewer sugary drinks. “It is important to note that this study does not prove cause and effect, rather it identifies a trend,” Medical Press quoted the association as saying. The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has clearly made it known that the Northern part of the country is Nigeria’s biggest problem and obstacle to development. A Pennsylvania college student whose whereabouts were unknown after a rugby competition at Bermuda was found lifeless Monday, March 19, following after a thorough search of the British island territory. Searchers found the corpse of Mark Dombroski, 19, at the base of a colonial-era fort in a park not far from where he was last seen walking by himself on CCTV footage, officials with the Bermuda Police Service said at a news conference. A taxi driver has become a popular figure due to his heart of kindness after helping to save a baby dumped by an unknown person. Recall that Taxi drivers are known for their reckless driving and a general disrespect for their passengers. But on Tuesday, one taxi driver turned into a hero after he spotted and saved a baby that was dumped. The taxi man notified the police. This incident happened in South Africa. Following a surge in the production of shale oil, America’s import of oil from Nigeria dropped to zero in June 2015 from the all-time high of 1.31 million barrels per day of the commodity in February 2006. In the early 2000s, the United States bought 700,000 barrels per day of the commodity. Speaking at CERAWeek in Houston, US, Kachikwu noted that the era when the United States was a ready market for crude oil from Nigeria “is gone”. The CERAWeek conference tries to strike an outreach between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, and shale oil producers.
