Christians, Southerners, Most Beneficiaries Of President Buhari's Political Appointments - Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo stated that it is wrong to say President Muhammadu Buhari is pro-North or Antichrist inanity.

Osinbajo made it known that Christians and Southerners are the most beneficiaries of President Buhari's political appointments. Osinbajo said this when he spoke with newsmen in Lagos recently.

The vice president noted that Buhari's cabinet comprised 20 Christians and 18 Muslims.  Osinbajo said while four of the five southeastern states had substantive ministers seven northern states had ministers of state.  Accordimg alt='''Christians, Southerners are the biggest beneficiaries of President Buhari's appointments'' VP Yemi Osinbajo says' class='img-responsive text-center' style='margin: auto;' to the Vice President, there were  people who did not know that the number of Chief Executive Officers of federal agencies and parastatals from Anambra State is more than the number of those from Katsina State or anywhere else except Ogun State.

Look at the cabinet, for example, from the point of view of the religion, it has an equal number: 18 Christians, 18 Muslims; but, we have the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as well as the Head of Service who are Christians. So,  we have 20 Christians to 18 Muslims; that's the structure of the cabinet. So,  if you take that narrative you may argue that perhaps the Christian have the upper hand; that's a possible narrative. Let us look a little deeper into that, so there are those who may argue, for example, that the North has an upper hand or perhaps one section has an upper hand in the cabinet as one narrative. The South East, for example, has five states. Four of the South Eastern states have senior ministers; all of them, except one, who is Minister of State for Education.

In the  assigning particular portfolios he does (have a choice). In the north, seven northern states have no senior minister, including the President's home state, Katsina. Now, there are those who will say, if you are nepotistic; surely seven northern states have no senior minister. It's a narrative depending on how you want to run it.

I give you another example; I'm from the South West. There are people who will say 'I am from the South West, the North has everything.' The South West, for the first time in the history of this country, has one Minister who is in charge of three ministries: Power, Works and Housing. The Ministers of Finance & Communications are also from the South West. These are critical ministries. You can run the narrative in whichever way that you choose.

Speaking further, Osinbajo said ''There are those who will say, for instance, look at the number of CEOs of agencies of government; the highest number of CEOs in our nation today comes from Ogun State, the state has the largest number. There are those who will say that's his state (i.e VP’S State). So you can run the narrative depending on how you want to run it. The president has admitted that, yes there are situations where you can find certain things as true and he intends to have a look at that.  For example, you've given the example of security positions and he said he is going to take a look at look at it. I believe that is the way to go because you can run any narrative that will suit the figures you are showing. And that is where we have legal process. There are people who don't know that the number of CEOs from Anambra State are more than the number of CEOs from Katsina State or anywhere else, except Ogun."

#RamadanDailyDigest: What You Should Tell Troublemakers While Fasting

Today's Ramadan Daily Digest comes with another scintillating topic titled what you should tell troublemakers while fasting, as Ramadan fasting enters Day 13. It is important that as a fasting Muslim, first of all, you should not create problems for others or yourself at all times, as you should know what you should tell troublemakers while fasting, in order to have all the rewards of Ramadan and not just putting yourself under hunger and thirst, which means a nullity in fasting. READ THIS TOO:  Fasting For 18 Hours Isn't A Joke What the above paragraph is explaining likewise is that you, as a fasting Muslim should not be a troublemaker by causing problems with your tongue during Ramadan fasting. It is important to add quickly that whether before, during or after Ramadan, you should not cause rancour among people. In some instances, people who dare not talk to you with disgust might want to tease you as they know you are fasting. Therefore, you should know what to tell troublem...

7 Greatest Sportsmen Of All Time

There are often arguments and counterarguments on who the 7 greatest sportsmen of all time are. Some sports historians, analysts, and supporters pick their own choices not necessarily on facts but emotions.  In picking the 7 greatest sportsmen of all time, I briefly checked their achievements not just in their specific fields but also their impact outside the world of sports. 1. Boxing legend, Muhammad Ali has been crowned the best sports athlete of all time in a star-studded list. The 'Greatest' is widely considered the best boxer in history and arguably the most iconic sports star of the 20th century.  Ali was not just a beauty to watch in the boxing ring, the greatest pugilist positively influenced decisions in many countries globally.  2. Pele is widely picked as the winner, and number one football player in history in all criteria. His three-time World Cup-winning feat, from four World Cup appearances, is unlikely to be matched. Pele scored a Guinness World Record of...

#RamadanDailyDigest: Significance Of Moonsighting & Commencement Of Ramadan

Ramadan Daily Digest, which is an annual article on the stable of Naijaloveinfo with hashtag, #RamadanDailyDigest will be discussing briefly the significance of moonsighting and the commencement of Ramadan. Ramadan, which is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar is the only month in which Muslims, the world over fast from dawn till sunset for 29 or 30 days. Allaah commands Muslims to fast as stated in some parts of Suuratul Baqara (chapter 2) of The Glorious Qur'an. The Glorious Qur'an is the first and most important book to all Muslims. For all the Islamic months, starting from Muharram (first month) to Dhul Hajj (12th month), the numbers of days in each of these 12 months are often 29 days and once in a while 30 days. The interesting thing about counting days is that the crescent (new moon) plays an important role. Therefore, the significance of moonsighting is the first consideration before starting the Ramadan fasting.  The question that could come up is why do Muslims co...
