Reports coming in just now have it that one time president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, some former state governors and other well-meaning Nigerians have launched a new political movement. According to Punch, Chief Obasanjo, stormed the Ogun State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Oke Ilewo area of Abeokuta,  at exactly 12.44pm to inaugurate his much-touted Coalition for Nigeria Movement. Others in his entourage are former governors of Cross River and Osun States, Donald Duke and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola. Obasanjo later filled his form as a member of the coalition and submitted it to the national coordinator, Oyinlola. More information will be posted on this happening as reports trickle in later. No fewer than six persons have been said to be killed and several others injured by suspected Fulani herdsmen in fresh attack in Kaguru village of Kaduna state.  According to an indigene of the area, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked the village on Wednesday night. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Mukhtar Aliyu, confirming the incident said the gunmen invaded the community while the villagers were asleep, killing six persons.  “The hoodlums invaded the community when the residents went to bed after which they started shooting indiscriminately and burning down houses before the arrival of security operatives. Notorious native doctor, Tordue Gber (Tiv Swem), who reportedly played the role of a spiritual adviser to wanted armed criminal militias, has met his end. It was a sad incident for commuters along the Benin- Auchi expressway as daredevil robbery suspects killed a passenger after attacking passengers. The Igbo Civil Society Coalition (ICSCO), made up of civil society organisations, activists, human rights groups and the academia in the Southeast has claimed that Nigerian soldiers killed at least 100 persons, while 200 others sustained injury, during Operation ‘Python Dance’ in the region in 2017. The new allegation was contained in a communique issued by the ICSCO at the end of its meeting in Enugu on Tuesday, January 23. The groups equally rejected the proposed cattle colony of the federal government in the southeast, describing it as a ploy to achieve islamization agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a huge quantity of the harvested dried weeds reportedly said to be Cannabis sativa in a warehouse in Ugbubezi Forest, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo state, South South Nigeria. The Edo State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr Buba Wakawa, made this known in a statement issued in Benin on Wednesday, January 24. Wakawa said that officers of the command discovered the large quantity of the harvested dried weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa or Indian Hemp in a warehouse in Ugbubezi Forest. He said that the drug with a street value of more than N20 million was evacuated from the warehouse by a team of over 70 officers of the command. Wakawa said the exhibits included: 34 bags of compressed suspected cannabis weighing 680 kg and 94 bags of dried weeds weighing 1,316 kg.
