Kylian Mbappe: Is The UEFA Champions League Coming Soon?

Kylian Mbappe is the best person to answer, is the UEFA Champions League coming soon? The young French star and icon is on presently on global football ascendancy. Mbappe's name continues to dominate major football headlines even after France narrowly lost out a back-to-back honour of defending the FIFA World Cup that ended on Sunday, December 18 in Qatar.

Mbappé already has a FIFA World Cup title to his credit, in which he won at Russia in 2018. The PSG lethal winger played a key role in that World Cup, where he scored a goal in the final match, and ended the tournament with four goals.

In the just concluded Qatar FIFA World Cup, Mbappe banged a hat trick in the final match. Geoff Hurst was the first man to score a hat trick in a FIFA World Cup final. Hurst scored three goals against West Germany in England's 4-2 victory over the German Machines at the 1966 FIFA World Cup tournament hosted by the English nation. Mbappe, therefore become the second football player to score a hat trick after Hurst.

One record Mbappe has now made in FIFA World Cup history is that he is the first and currently the only footballer with four World Cup final goals (one in 2018 and three in 2022).

As Mbappe turns 24 today, Tuesday, December 20,  the lightning fast player has some astonishing football records he could break soon. One of such is that Mbappe is five goals away from becoming the all-time leading scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup. The current all-time record holder is retired German World Cup winner, Miroslav Klose, with 16 goals. Mbappe already has 12 FIFA World Cup goals.

Another record is that the pacy striker is 18 goals away from becoming France's all-time leading scorer. He will overtake current holder of the record, Olivier Giroud, if the latter retires from international football soon without scoring again.

Also, Mbappe is 11 goals short from becoming PSG's all-time leading goalscorer.

Barring any major injury blow or unforeseen circumstances, Mbappe, now 24 years old, could play active football for at least 10 years, and break existing goal records.

In all the above mentioned successes of Mbappe regarding his goalscoring instinct, he still needs to win the UEFA Champions League in the next three to four seasons. If he does not achieve this feat before he retires, then his name will not be mentioned among the all-time football legends.

There is still much time for the Frenchman to win the Champions League either with his current club, PSG or if he moves to a bigger European club side.

One thing to take note is that winning the UEFA Champions League is as difficult as winning the FIFA World Cup. To some football pundits, they believe, the Champions League is even more difficult to win than the FIFA World Cup. Whether the Champions League is more difficult or not, the ball is in the court of Mbappe to prove his critics wrong that he would win Europe's Elite Clubs' Title in a few years from now, and cement his name among the all-time greats.

There are often arguments and counterarguments on who the 7 greatest sportsmen of all time are. Some sports historians, analysts, and supporters pick their own choices not necessarily on facts but emotions.  In picking the 7 greatest sportsmen of all time, I briefly checked their achievements not just in their specific fields but also their impact outside the world of sports. 1. #RamadanDailyDigest: Significance Of Moonsighting & Commencement Of Ramadan

Ramadan Daily Digest, which is an annual article on the stable of Naijaloveinfo with hashtag, #RamadanDailyDigest will be discussing briefly the significance of moonsighting and the commencement of Ramadan. Ramadan, which is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar is the only month in which Muslims, the world over fast from dawn till sunset for 29 or 30 days. Allaah commands Muslims to fast as stated in some parts of Suuratul Baqara (chapter 2) of The Glorious Qur'an. The Glorious Qur'an is the first and most important book to all Muslims. For all the Islamic months, starting from Muharram (first month) to Dhul Hajj (12th month), the numbers of days in each of these 12 months are often 29 days and once in a while 30 days. The interesting thing about counting days is that the crescent (new moon) plays an important role. Therefore, the significance of moonsighting is the first consideration before starting the Ramadan fasting.  The question that could come up is why do Muslims co...
