#RamadanDailyDigest: Why Tafseer Should Be Part Of Your Ramadan Schedule

Tafseer should be part of your Ramadan schedule, right from the beginning of the holy month of fasting till the last day.

The Tafseer is often done in the Mosque where the Muslim preacher, has another person who assist him to read out portions of the Glorious Qur'an in Arabic for him to explain to the listening congregation in their local language.

The word 'Tafseer' simply means 'the exigencies of the Glorious Qur'an.'  Tafseer, an Arabic word likewise means explaining the verses of the Glorious Qur'an from different perspectives. Some of the perspectives include the reasons why Almighty Allaah revealed a particular verse or verses or chapter. In addition, another perspective about Tafseer is from the explanations from the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon his noble soul). In addition, another perspective to what Tafseer means is that some verses of the Glorious Qur'an explain other verses for better understanding.

On why Tafseer should be part of your Ramadan schedule is that you will be enlightened as to what Almighty Allaah intends about the Glorious Qur'an. You will get to learn about the historical accounts of the people (both good and bad) of old such as Pharaoh of Egypt and Prophet Musa, called Moses in English (peace of Allaah be upon him) as highlighted in Suuratul Qasas (chapter 28); the medicinal benefits of the honey bee mentioned in Suuratu Nahl (chapter 16); the encounter of Maryam, the mother of Prophet Eesa (Jesus Christ) and the people who accused her of having a child out of wedlock as revealed in Suuratu Maryam (chapter 19) and loads of every other information about life.

The beauty of Tafseer is that it digs deep into everything about the Glorious Qur'an for Muslims to learn more about their Book.

It should be noted that Tafseer of the Glorious Qur'an is not limited only to the month of Ramadan, however, most Muslim preachers do the Tafseer in the month of Ramadan, because the Glorious Qur'an was revealed in the month of Ramadan. Likewise, Ramadan fasting is all about the Glorious Qur'an.

In lieu of this, Tafseer should be part of your Ramadan schedule, as the life of a Muslim is all about learning and seeking knowledge, which you will get in abundance when you attend the Tafseer. Due to technology, you can watch or listen to Tafseer on TV or radio respectively. You can also watch or listen to Tafseer via different digital (online) and social media platforms.
