It is important that as a fasting Muslim, first of all, you should not create problems for others or yourself at all times, as you should know what you should tell troublemakers while fasting, in order to have all the rewards of Ramadan and not just putting yourself under hunger and thirst, which means a nullity in fasting.


What the above paragraph is explaining likewise is that you, as a fasting Muslim should not be a troublemaker by causing problems with your tongue during Ramadan fasting. It is important to add quickly that whether before, during or after Ramadan, you should not cause rancour among people.

In some instances, people who dare not talk to you with disgust might want to tease you as they know you are fasting. Therefore, you should know what to tell troublemakers while fasting. 

Firstly, you must avoid engaging in abuse, curses or physical fight with such troublemakers. You should also know what you should tell troublemakers while fasting by avoiding arguments with them. 

The important thing you should tell them was stated by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

What you should tell troublemakers while fasting


Prophet Muhammad made it known that if someone wants to bring about discord or uses bad words against you while you are fasting during the month of Ramadan, just tell such a person, "I am fasting. I am fasting." The logic behind this reply is that the person will leave you alone, thereby dousing any tension that could arise between such a person and you. Also, you will have self control over your temper.

Furthermore, all fasting Muslims should avoid trouble, troublemakers and they themselves should not be troublemakers. 

The lesson of Ramadan fasting is for all Muslims to become better individuals both spiritually and physically, as well as in what they say with their tongue.
