#RamadanDailyDigest: Ramadan Is All About The Glorious Qur'an

Fasting in the month of Ramadan is all about the Glorious Qur'an. Reading and reciting the Glorious Qur'an is the number one priority of a fasting Muslim. Anyone who is fasting, and neglects the Glorious Qur'an in Ramadan needs to retract his or her steps.

Ramadan is all about the Glorious Qur'an for so many reasons, which fasting Muslims and others alike should know.

Firstly, the Glorious Qur'an whose first five revealed verses to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon his noble soul) in the Ghaari Hiraah (The Cave of Hiraah) in Makkah in modern day Saudi Arabia as contained in the first five verses of Suuratul Alaq (chapter 96) happend during the month of Ramadan. The Mesenger of Allaah had gone to meditate and think about the lifestyle of his people, when Angel Jibril (Gabriel) appeared to him and told the Messenger of Islam to read the first five verses of Suuratul Alaq.

Secondly, the instructions by Allaah by making the Ramadan fasting compulsory on Muslims is contained in the Glorious Qur'an from verses 183 to 187 of Suuratul Baqara (chapter 2) of the Book of Allaah. This further indicates there is a strong relationship between the Glorious Qur'an and Ramadan fasting.

It should be noted that the Glorious Qur'an has many names in which 'The Book of Allaah' is part of such names.

In addition, the essence of knowing that Ramadan is all about the Glorious Qur'an is in the reward for reciting it during fasting. There are tonnes of rewards for a person who recites the Glorious Qur'an in the month of Ramadan compared to the other 11 months. Therefore, a fasting Muslim should know about this multiple rewards that await him or her from Allaah.

In conclusion, the Glorious Qur'an is the companion of all Muslims whether before, during or after Ramadan.

#RamadanDailyDigest: Muslim Wives Are Supporters, Not Slaves

Muslims have completed fasting Day 4 today, as they look forward to Day 5 fasting out of the 29 or 30 days fasting; it is important to highlight the roles Muslim wives play in the family. Muslim wives are supporters, and not slaves, and should be treated with utmost dignity. In the religion of Islam, the roles and rights of Muslim wives are copiously written and spoken about. How husbands should relate with their wives are clearly stated. In the Glorious Qur'an, to show the love Allaah has for women, chapter 4 is also called 'Suuratu Nisaa' which translates to chapter of the women in English language. Interesting to know that there is no single chapter out of the total 114 chapters of the Glorious Qur'an named after men, further showing that Muslim wives, daughters, mothers, and all groups of females are held in high esteem by Allaah. It is a sad tale to see what happens in the present day world, whereby some women are maltreated and abused by the society and their part...
