Ramadan Daily Digest 26: Be Cautious Of Name-Calling, Gossip

Islam is a religion which enjoins all Muslims to respect people of other faiths or ideologies no matter what the situation.

Muslims are forbidden from abusing or cursing or name-calling themselves and others.

One of the things that will make a good number of persons enter Jahanam (hell fire) on the day of judgement is badmouthing/name-calling.

In chapter 49 verses 11-12 of the Glorious Qur'an, Almighty Allaah warned the believing Muslims to desist against the following bad behaviours:

1. Defaming one another.

2. Insulting one another using terrible nicknames.

3. Spying on one another.

4. Backbiting one another.

All the four mentioned above are totally unacceptable in Islam. Any Muslim who does them should stop immediately and seek for forgiveness.

No Muslim must die with one or all the four mentioned bad behaviours.
