The first verse of Suuratul Faatiha is Bismillaah, meaning, in the name of Allaah.
Bismillaah is recited by Muslims before beginning with the recitation of the Glorious Qur'an. The only chapter out of the 114 chapters that does not start with Bismillaah is Suuratu Taobah, which is chapter 9.
In addition, reciting Bismillaah is not needed when reciting Suuratul Faatiha in the five daily prayers.
Going further, Bismillaah is recited by a Muslim before he begins eating any food or drink anything.
More so, Bismillaah is one of the words recited before slaughtering an animal.
