Dani Alves Breaks Record, Becomes First Football Player To Win 40 Trophies

Brazil's Dani Halves, 36 years has broken football record for the number of trophies he has won throughout his career, which now stand at 40.

The former Sevilla and FC Barcelona creative defender had 39 trophies prior to leading his national team to Copa America glory by defeating 3-1 on Sunday, July 7.

Alves captained Brazil, the host of the South American football fiesta to win the cup, which made it his 40th trophy.

Daily reports that: Brazil defender, Dani Alves, has become the first footballer to win 40 trophies after he won the Copa America on Sunday.



The 36-year-old, who captained the Selecao, also won the Best Player of the Tournament award.

The Copa America hosts defeated Peru 3-1 in the final at the Maracana on Sunday, to seal their first Copa triumph since 2007.

It was Alves’ fourth international trophy, with two previous Confederations Cups added to his Copa victories.

The fullback won five trophies with Sevilla, before making the move to Barcelona in 2008.

At the Camp Nou, Alves won an incredible 23 tournaments with the Blaugrana during his eight years in Catalonia.

He moved from Barca to Juventus in 2016 and scooped up the Italian double in one season in Turin, before switching to Paris Saint-Germain two seasons ago.

He collected six trophies in France, including the double in both seasons and is now a free agent.
