Zidane What? How Real Madrid Have Become Much Better Under Lopetegui

Zinedine Zidane won the hearts of Real Madrid supporters all over the world after his domination of the UEFA Champions League competition, which he won consecutively for Los Blancos in 2016, 2017 and 2018 in a memorable fashion.

Real Madrid fans are beginning to enjoy their team's new style of football, the style of Julen Lopetegui.

It looks like a team that cherishes the ball and in last night's match against Getafe, Los Blancos boasted 78% of possession - a figure only bettered twice by a Real side since 2009.

There had been glimpses of this possession-based style in a preseason friendly against AC Milan, however, last night was the first competitive test and the fans loved what they saw.

While the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu faithful enjoyed the running, the height, the depth, it's clear that the system can still be perfected.

Against teams like Getafe who position ten men behind the ball and are well organised defensively, good movement and change of play is key in order to reap the reward of such high levels of possession.

Therefore, making constant changes, like Zinedine Zidane did, will also form part of this team's identity, a team which relies on excellent deep-lying midfielders like Toni Kroos, who made 117 good passes in last night's league opener, with only two misplaced.

It's true though that Real could enjoy even more possession this season, as Getafe played their part in the final stages of the game.

With a two goal deficit to reduce, they pushed forward at the end, reducing Los Blancos' possession percentage.

Even so, this was a dominance that won't be forgotten for a while. This is the new style of Real Madrid.

#RamadanDailyDigest: Muslim Wives Are Supporters, Not Slaves

Muslims have completed fasting Day 4 today, as they look forward to Day 5 fasting out of the 29 or 30 days fasting; it is important to highlight the roles Muslim wives play in the family. Muslim wives are supporters, and not slaves, and should be treated with utmost dignity. In the religion of Islam, the roles and rights of Muslim wives are copiously written and spoken about. How husbands should relate with their wives are clearly stated. In the Glorious Qur'an, to show the love Allaah has for women, chapter 4 is also called 'Suuratu Nisaa' which translates to chapter of the women in English language. Interesting to know that there is no single chapter out of the total 114 chapters of the Glorious Qur'an named after men, further showing that Muslim wives, daughters, mothers, and all groups of females are held in high esteem by Allaah. It is a sad tale to see what happens in the present day world, whereby some women are maltreated and abused by the society and their part...
