The Denmark government has made it known that it has joined some European countries not
to allow full face veiled women in the country.
This comes after a law was effected regarding banning covering of the Muslim women's face.
Authorities in Denmark have banned the wearing of full face veil in public after a 75 to 30 vote on Thursday by Danish legislators passed the bill into law.
The bill which was presented by Denmark’s centre-right governing coalition was also backed by the Social Democrats and the far-right Danish People’s Party.
“Anyone who wears a garment that hides the face in public will be punished with a fine,” says the law, which is to take effect on August 1.
Reports say anyone who violates the law will be fined the sum of 1,000 kroner ($156) and repeated violations will be fined up to 10,000 kroner ($15,600).
Denmark now joins Belgium, France, Netherlands, Bulgaria and parts of Switzerland where similar recent bans on veils covering the entire face are being enforced.
