APC Ekiti Governorship Primaries; What Fayemi Did After Victory

The newly elected Ekiti state governorship candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress and current minister of mines, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed great joy following his victory in the Saturday, May 12 primary election of his party.

According to Daily Post, Fayemi polled 941 votes to beat Oni, who polled 481 votes in the rescheduled Ekiti State APC primary election, which held on Saturday.

The former governor and current minister while giving his acceptance speech after being declared winner of the poll, stated that the victory was not just his, but a “collective victory for all the aspirants, the Ekiti people and for APC as a whole.”

He said, “I am delighted to have won the party’s primary election, and I am also happy because the delegates voted for me.

“It shows that they believe so much in my abilities to change the lives of the Ekiti people to better compare with what they are currently experiencing.

“All other aspirants ‎are my friends and colleagues, and I am going to work with them to ensure that our great party emerges winner in the forthcoming gubernatorial election,”

Addressing Ekiti indigenes, Fayemi stated that he was not on a vengeance mission against the government of Governor Fayose but had unfinished business in terms of bringing more development to the state.

He, however, pleaded with them to forgive any of his past policies, which may have offended them while serving as governor of the state.
