Tragedy Strikes As Zamfara Legislator Loses 10 Family Members In Ghastly Auto Crash

It will ever be a sorrowful day to remember for a Zamfara lawmaker as 10 of his family members perished in a ghastly auto crash.

According to dailypost, three biological children and seven family members of Saidu Yarkufoji, a legislator in the Zamfara State house of assembly, representing Bakura constituency, have died in an auto crash.

The Zamfara command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the tragic incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday, April 23.

Nasiru Ahmed, public relations officer of the command, explained that the ghastly auto crash was caused by a head-on collision involving a Volkswagen Golf car and a Coca-Cola truck.

The tragic incident happened along Sokoto-Gusau road on Sunday, April 22.

According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), other family members of the lawmaker who died in the accident were four of his grandchildren, his two sisters and his driver.

“Out of the 10 persons, who died in the car conveying 12 passengers, nine are female.

“The other two persons who sustained various degrees of injuries are still receiving treatment at Yariman Bakura Special Hospital, Gusau.

“Motorists are advised to avoid night journey and over speeding as much as possible to reduce crashes across the state,” he said.
