Champions League Final: Steven Gerrard Reveals Why He Wants Liverpool To Play Bayern Munich

Liverpool great and retired footballer, Steven Gerrard has made it known the team Liverpool want in Champions League final.

Gerrard stated that the Reds would rather face Bayern Munich than Real Madrid in the final.

He said this was because Real have a better experience in the competition than Bayern.

The Reds beat Roma 5-2 in the first leg of their semi-final clash at Anfield on Tuesday.

They stand a better chance of making it to the final if they avoid losing by three goals next week in the reverse fixture.

In the other semi-final sees Bayern Munich lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at home on Wednesday.

Asked between Bayern and Real who he thinks the Reds would prefer, Gerard told BT Sport, “I had a feeling you would ask that! Bayern just I’d say, Bayern just.

“I think defensively they would probably give you a few more chances than Madrid.

“I think the experience of Madrid, I think Liverpool would have that little bit better chance against Bayern.”

Real are looking to win the Champions League for an unprecedented third straight season.

If they were to get to the final, we could see Cristiano Ronaldo go up against Mohamed Salah.

The Champions League final takes place May 26 in Kiev, Ukraine.
