Anambra Governorship Election: MASSOB Blasts IPOB, Says Election Shall Hold In Anambra

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) under the leadership of Chief Ralph Uwazurike and the Biafran Independent Movement (BIM) on Thursday,July 27, 2017 lambasted the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu over its position that there would be no governorship election in Anambra come November this year.
According to Sun, the MASSOB leader, who spoke in Onitsha through its MASSOB-BIM Leader for Anambra south senatorial zone, chief Arinze Igbani asked IPOB and its leader to desist henceforth from instilling fear into people’s mind concerning the election.
The MASSOB-BIM Leader described the act of using Biafran flag to chase politicians away and disrupting their rallies as an act of foolishness on the part of the IPOB, just as he accused them of desecrating the Biafran symbol.
“IPOB and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu by their actions are making mockery of the Biafran Flag which Ojukwu fought for and Chief Uwazurike raised it again after the Civil War, on May 22, 2000.  Flag is the pride of any nation but today Nnamdi Kanu is using it as a tool to attack Nigerian politicians.  MASSOB-BIM is not part of no -election propaganda in Anambra State. This is because election cannot stop Biafra.
“Holding election in Anambra State or the entire South- East cannot stop Biafra and stopping election cannot give us Biafra. It is only the International Community that can help us by giving us the recognition we need and other things will follow” he said.
MASSOB Blasts IPOB, Says Election Shall Hold In Anambra

He advised all those hiding under the banner of IPOB and trying to make trouble in any part of Biafra in the name of stopping election in any part of Igbo land to have a rethink, saying “they are ignorant of the rudiments of the struggle to actualize Biafra. If Biafra comes up on that day of election, even one day after swearing in, for instance, everything about that government will stop. Let peace reign everywhere in Biafran land as directed by our leader, Chief Uwazurike and we shall continue to follow non violence approach in actualizing Biafra” Igbani, added.

Behind The Scene Of APC's Primaries, Other Political Parties

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was elected in June last year, following the primaries of the ruling party. Before Tinubu's emergence, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party had set up a committee led by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun to screen the presidential aspirants. More so, all the presidential aspirants had bought, filled and returned the nomination form. The nomination form, also known as the presidential form was on the high side, as the ruling party charged millions of naira. A good number of Nigerians criticised the APC for the high cost of its expression of interest and nomination forms for the presidential nomination, as well as for governorship, house of representatives and for state house of assembly.
