#RamadanDailyDigest: Significance Of Masjid During Ramadan

The significance of Masjid during Ramadan is the centre piece of fasting itself. This means that the Masjid plays a pivotal role in the month of Ramadan.

In the life of all Muslims, especially males, who have reached adulthood, the significance of Masjid is the main thing worshipping Allaah via the religion of Islaam is all about. Whether before, during or after Ramadan, the significance of Masjid is a talking point. The difference however in Ramadan is that fasting Muslims spend more time in the Masjid than any other month.

Masjid, a dedicated place of worship and learning for Muslims is a beehive of different activities during the holy month of Ramadan. Apart from the regular obligatory five daily prayers observed in the Masjid, there are so many other activities done which shows the significance of Masjid during Ramadan.

One of the activities which bring the Masjid more alive during Ramadan is the recitation of the Glorious Qur'an by Muslims. A good number of fasting Muslims leave the comfort of their homes and spend many hours everyday, reading the Book of Allaah. There is no other month that a good number of Muslims spend long hours reading and reciting the Glorious Qur'an like Ramadan.

Masjid plays significant role in Ramadan

Another activity which shows the significance of Masjid during Ramadan is Tafseer of the Glorious Qur'an. As explained in one of the previous Ramadan Daily Digest article on what Tafseer is all about, there is no other time the Masjid is put into use for Tafseer except in the month of Ramadan. This activity therefore afford Muslims to learn more about the Glorious Qur'an.

Other acts of worship such as I'tikaaf (seclusion inside the Masjid in the last 9 or 10 nights of Ramadan); Taraweeh prayers after Salaatul Ishaa; memorisation and learning of different Books of Islamic jurisprudence, among other activities.

It should be noted that the significance of Masjid during Ramadan is a proof that Muslims connect to Allaah more spiritually in the Masjid, and in the month of Ramadan.
