Fashola Has Set New Record: This Is Why He Is The Best Minister Of Power In Nigeria’s Modern History

An appreciative Lagos indigene by the name Oladipupo, who lives around Ogba area of Ikeja local government area of Lagos, has written this piece to shower so much praises on Nigeria’s minister of power, works and housing.

Babatunde Raji Fashola is the current minister of power, works and housing in the country. He was a two-term governor of Lagos state. This was from 2007-2015.

Fashola was a green horn in the murky water of Lagos politics prior to 2007. Destiny catapulted him via his benefactor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Why is this Lagosian who resides at Ogba so happy with Fashola?

The reason is simple. Since mid-July, 2017, up to the present moment, Wednesday, August 30, there has been almost 24 hours of power supply at Ogba. If there would be any interruption, it doesn’t last more than 5-10minutes.

What has Fashola done to change the fortune of the power sector for good? The minister of power alone can answer this. This is because there are no clear and straight-forward answers yet. However, it seems the barrage of constructive criticisms by the media and Nigerians alike in recent times made the former Lagos state governor sit up.

Some findings around areas like Agege, Ifako-Ijaiye and other unnamed communities in Lagos, show power outage is becoming a thing of the past.

As they say in politics, it is not yet uhuru! This is because the current stable and constant electricity supply is being ascribed to the present weather. It’s the rainy period and there is enough water in the dam to power the hydro-electricity turbines. Maybe, this happy Lagosian would have to wait to the harmattan season to observe if Fashola has eventually found the weapon to kill the hydra-headed monster preventing Nigeria’s power sector from moving forward.

Although, this good news of constant electricity at Ogba is not being heard everywhere in Lagos.

However, residents of Ogba and this Lagos indigene in particular, are ecstatic because there is almost 24hours of daily power supply in their area.
